The Greater Delaware Valley
Association of Churches of the
American Baptist Churches of New Jersey seeks to know Christ and to make Him
known to others. To achieve that
goal, the Association receives new churches into the membership, examines
candidates for ordination to the Pastoral Ministry of ABCUSA, and elects
representatives to the National Board of ABCUSA.
The Association supports its member
churches by encouraging and assisting each member church in locating and
developing local church talents, services, and gifts as a mutual resource;
facilitates fellowship between representatives of the Association, member churches
and clergy; promotes peace and unity within the churches; and resolves
conflicts within member churches.
The
Association
also reviews and reports on the participation of member churches and
their representatives; identifies, promotes, evaluates, reports, and make
recommendations concerning mission programs and opportunities for the Association.
